I began playing this hack shortly after finishing all or most of the Mega Man 1 level hacks I’ve got here and have to say I was completely blown away. It’s more than merely a well balanced game that’s plenty of fun to play, it’s virtually an entire remake of the first two classic Mega Man NES games. The only thing that really needed improving in regards to the levels prior to Wily’s Castle stage that I could identify was one of the stages was silent and it had no music.

In terms of Wily’s castle that’s another story. There are parts that could certainly use a complete overhaul because they’re ridiculous. Save states are an absolute must or else you’re going to be sitting there probably forever trying to figure them out. But prior to that the levels are beautifully redone and redesigned and I especially enjoyed playing the metal man stage. I used the slide & charge-up shot patch during the playthrough and it was like playing Mega Man 1 and 2 all over again for the first time only in a brand new way. I hope to see remakes of parts: 3,4,5 and 6 done the very same way. Unless you want something that’s exceedingly difficult and frustrating at the same time, I wouldn’t really recommend the + patch that is included with the download of this hack.
