Schala Edition

Hack of Chrono Trigger

Description:

This hack alters events of the game so that Schala is rescued as part of the normal course of events. Schala remains part of the game world through the rest of the story and can be interacted with regularly.

Other changes include: an expanded version of the original Ted Woolsey translation, new items and Techs, new enemies and dungeons, new locations and NPCs, new shops and treasures, and a lot of surprises along the way. More alterations are explained in the readme.

2.2 is a cleanup of 2.1, including typo corrections and repairs to minor bugs. The primary game content is not altered.

Please note: this hack does include the New Game+ feature, despite what was stated in one of the reviews.

The one we have been waiting for.

There are plenty of good Chrono Trigger hacks. Translations as good as or better than the Game Boy Advance version. Augmented stories that use elements from Chrono Cross. Changes to the gameplay to make it more interesting.

Like Fauntleroy’s Final Fantasy IV & VI Golbez and Leo Editions, Schala promises to give Chrono Trigger player’s the story that they have always wanted to see. It is well written and not weird fanfiction. I’ve seen that!

There are plenty of fun gameplay changes added in for longtime players to enjoy while waiting for the major changes. I am looking forward to the additions to the original dialogue and the new areas to explore.

It might have been possible to trade out one of the existing characters to make Schala playable, but there are too few to select from. In addition, each one has major storyline arcs throughout the game.
